JustSessions for Mac
Release notes
New features, improvements, and fixes.
A short history of what changed.
Disconnect from an SSH host
New
- Disconnect, in an SSH host's ⋯ menu, closes its tabs and stops all background work until you choose Connect.
Improved
- Switching tabs no longer stalls for seconds when an SSH host has hundreds of projects under /home.

Choose a split view's tab
New
- Add Tab to New Split View (⌥⌘N) in the Tabs menu lists tabs to show beside the current one.
Improved
- The app does less work each second while an SSH host lists thousands of sessions.
Fixed
- Fixed repeated 10-second waits on an SSH host that doesn't answer: the app remembers the failure for a minute.
- Small bug fixes.

Sign in again on SSH hosts
New
- Sign-in command… in an SSH host's menu asks for its PIN or code in a dialog when sign-in is due.

See what SSH sessions are doing
New
- SSH sessions in tmux show what their CLI does and notify, even with no tab; Antigravity needs the host's python3.
- Archive sessions to hide them from Projects without deleting them; Show archived lists them again.
- Forward a port… in an SSH host's menu makes one of its ports reachable at localhost on this Mac.
- Interface size in Settings → Appearance scales the app's interface from 90% to 150%; terminals keep their font size.
Fixed
- Fixed session names being lost: Pi's /name in long sessions, and renames with several windows open.

SSH tabs reconnect on their own
New
- SSH tabs in tmux reconnect on their own after their connection drops, such as while your Mac sleeps.
- SSH hosts are checked in the background; problems show beside the host's name and above its ended tabs.
- A host check that finds a problem offers Fix with agent…, which starts a CLI to fix it.
Improved
- Tabs dragged out of the bar no longer slide back first; their new window opens under the pointer.

Hosts refresh on their own
New
- Claude Code and Codex sessions show the model they used, with Codex's reasoning effort.
- Hosts refresh on their own while a window shows: This Mac every minute, SSH hosts every 5 minutes.
- End or delete several running sessions at once; their tabs close and their CLIs end first.
Improved
- Closing a CLI tab remembers your choice per host; a choice saved before this version resets to Ask each time.
Fixed
- Fixed Shift-← and other modified arrow keys not reaching Codex in SwiftTerm tabs.

Paste images and tune terminal colors
New
- ⌘V pastes a copied image into Claude Code in Ghostty tabs and on SSH hosts too.
- Color intensity in Appearance settings makes the terminal's 16 ANSI colors stronger or softer.
Fixed
- Colors from Claude Code and other 256-color CLIs no longer look faded in SwiftTerm tabs.
- Small bug fixes.

Drag tabs into a split
New

Improved
- Switching tabs no longer stalls when the sidebar lists many projects.
Fixed
- ⌘-click opens the whole link, even when a CLI wraps it onto the next row.

Improved
- The app uses less CPU while a CLI is working.

Improved

Terminal links and splits across projects

SSH logins and Back/Forward
New
- Connect… on an SSH host's heading logs in to hosts that ask for a password, passphrase, or code.
- Go Back and Forward through tabs and sessions a window showed: title bar arrows, ⌘[ and ⌘].

- Small bug fixes.

- Terminals in a minimized window gather their output and stop drawing, as a hidden tab's do.
Fixed
- Fixed 1.2.0 crashing once Ghostty was chosen; if it crashes at launch, download 1.2.1 from the website.
- Small bug fixes.

Tab dragging and SSH shell startup
New
- Drag a tab out to a new window, or onto another window's tab bar; its terminal keeps running.
Fixed
- Open the CLI, not a shell, on SSH hosts whose interactive startup starts tmux or another shell.
- If the app can't avoid a host's startup files, a warning beside the host links to the fix.
